Diponegoro University Library and Undip Press held Webinar Series 8 with the theme “Preparation for Writing International Scientific Journals” via Zoom meeting media on Thursday, 5 October 2023. 279 participants attended and participated in the webinar with Dr. I Made Bayu Dirgantara, S.E., M.M. lecturer at the Undip Faculty of Economics and Business. The webinar activity was opened by remarks from the Deputy Chancellor for Communication and Business, Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D. He said that the Undip Library is currently making various efforts to improve services to the Undip Academic Community and the general public regarding matters that can support the performance and governance of the university as a world-class educational institution. He added that the ability to write in internationally accredited scientific journals is a must for the Undip Academic Community to bring Undip to become a world-class university, one of which is by participating in this morning’s webinar.
In academic publishing, a scientific journal is a publication that is periodic in nature and published at a certain time, which is intended to advance the progress of science. Academic journal articles are mostly written by active scientists such as students, researchers, and professors. I Made explained the elements contained in the article, types of journal articles, appropriate terminology, variations in definitions according to specific fields and journals, the publishing process, costs, and related to copyright. Discussions run interactively and openly.
