Library and Undip Press and the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University, held a Workshop on the Use of the Westlaw Database in Improving International Publications on Tuesday, 12 September 2023. This activity was held in the Satjipto Raharjo Building H.304 Undip Faculty of Law and was divided into two sessions. The total number of participants was 250 people. In his speech, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Law, Undip, Mrs. Dr. Tri Laksmi Indreswari, S.H, M.H., expressed his appreciation for this activity. He said, “With Westlaw, students, and lecturers can access journal articles and reference sources in the legal field, which will, of course, be useful for improving the quality of writing articles, theses, theses, dissertations so that it will improve professionalism and the quality of writing.”
Westlaw is a database that provides more than 40,000 documents, including case law, state and federal statutes, administrative codes, newspaper and magazine articles, public records, law journals, law reviews, treatises, legal forms, and other information for legal researchers and exclusive to lawyers and legal professionals. In this activity, participants can listen to basic details related to Westlaw, login procedures, document search processes, and techniques for using tools on the Westlaw website. The resource person for this workshop, M. Farhan Avicenna (Westlaw), taught them how to access journals via an account registered with SSO Undip, find references according to the topics we need, and manage search results.
