Closing the 2023 webinar series, the Library and Undip Press held webinar series 11 titled Introduction to Data Management and Analysis for General Researchers. The resource person presented was Dr. Dasapta Erwin Irawan. He is a lecturer in Applied Geology – Faculty of Earth Science and Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology. The webinar activity was opened by the Head of Library and Undip Press Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom.. In his speech, he thanked all participants who had attended from series 1 to series 11. He added that he would continue consistently providing information scientific knowledge on all platforms owned by the Undip Library.
The activity continued with a presentation of material by the resource person. The material presented starts with an introduction to data management and analysis, the devices used, the data retrieval process, and the media for uploading documents. Not only this material, but the resource person provided a discussion session by opening up all opportunities for questions. One of the participants, Mr Heri, asked about ethics and privacy regarding collecting data on underage children. On this occasion, the resource person explained that ethics when conducting research on humans, health, plants, and animals requires ethical permission from the ethics commission, which evaluates how we conduct the research. Many participants were enthusiastic about this webinar, as seen from the 586 participants who attended.
The webinar ended with a closing statement from the resource person, Dr. Dasapta Erwin Irawan. He said that research is a playground, so research must be fun so that the relationship between students and supervisors is not rigid. Rigid principles are only related to scientific principles. Regarding communication sharing research results and data, there is knowledge that researchers need to know. Expand your insight and always note down things that are considered important.
