Workshop on Utilizing Scopus, Sciencedirect, and Proquest Databases to Improve International Scientific Publications

On Wednesday, 30 August 2023, UPT Libraries and Undip Press held a workshop on using Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases to improve international scientific publications. Participants in the activity were the Undip Academic Community, consisting of lecturers and D4/S1 students: masters, PhD, and study program admin. The workshop activities were divided into two sessions, namely morning and afternoon sessions, with 200 participants. The Deputy Chancellor for Communication and Business at Diponegoro University, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D., opened the workshop activities to open the event and give a speech. He expressed his support for this activity so that the Undip Academic Community could strengthen its ability to expand its knowledge regarding the use of journals subscribed to by Diponegoro University, especially the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases. Activities with a similar theme will continuously be developed in line with efforts to make Undip a world-class university.

Mr. Dwi Janto Suandaru, as the speaker presented at the workshop on using Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases, has been an e-resources database training instructor since 2000. He specializes in e-resources (e-journal databases, e-books, and academic videos). The material presented is about the procedure for logging into the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases, how to use them, and a description of the tools that the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Proquest databases have. It also explains how to search for journals and select journal articles according to the research topics we need, as well as tips on avoiding predatory journals.
